The Special Collections area of our library is a way to present incredible images that emphasize certain subjects. We include collections that highlight a photographer's career (see the Ted Niehaus collection in the Smithsonian folder) or the work of an organization (see GBIP, i.e., The Great Basin Information Project), a specific theme (e.g., Finding Species: The Geckos of the U.S.) or project, or that are being shared online in order to help further research or conservation (e.g., Guyra Paraguay). See Contributors for more information about contributing images to the image library, and what determines if a collection is "Special." In the meantime, we invite you to explore these remarkable collections of images.
